CIZER SOFTWARE ENHANCES ITS PURE-BROWSER AD HOC REPORTING TOOL WITH FULL SECURITY MODEL AND DIRECT-TO-EXCEL FEATURE :
WASHINGTON DC May 18, 2004 - Cizer Software, the developers of the first-to-market browser-only Report Builder and Query tools for Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services, announced today that Cizer Quick Query has been enhanced with a hierarchical security model providing full authentication and authorization for permissions and data access filtering. The new release also includes a direct-to-Excel rendering feature that by-passes the need to run reports in HTML before opening them in Excel. The enhanced version will be generally available in early June, 2004.
“Microsoft’s SQL Server Business Intelligence goal has always been to push business intelligence to all levels of the organization,” said Bill Baker, General Manager of SQL Server Business Intelligence at Microsoft Corp. “Cizer’s Report Builder and Quick Query tools for SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services give business users the power to make their own reports whenever they need them, and access to the information that drives better decisions.”
As SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services gains momentum in the marketplace, BI users are turning to the Cizer .NET Reporting products to provide the integral bridge between SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services and the business user. Only Internet Explorer is required to build RDL-based ad hoc queries and production reports. Because Cizer Quick Query and Cizer Report Builder extend reporting capability to everyone, the security model is a critical component in providing just the right features and data to diverse sets of end users across the enterprise, while maintaining the integrity of data access policies.
